Following a DUI arrest on Friday night, West Virginia head men’s basketball coach Bob Huggins has resigned on Saturday.
According to Jeff Goodman of Stadium, Huggins met with the team around 9 p.m. on Saturday, and told them he will not be coaching them next season.
Goodman, along with Jon Rothstein later reported Huggins has resigned from his position.
Huggins was the current winningest active coach in Division I basketball, and held the third-most wins all-time. Huggins was arrested on Friday for his second DUI. This comes just over a month after Huggins used a homophobic slur on a Cincinnati radio station.
An announcement from West Virginia University is expected soon.
