Former Mountaineer Austin Davis advances to College World Series

One of the biggest storylines of last offseason for West Virginia baseball was outfielder Austin Davis entering the transfer portal and finding his home at TCU.

That move worked out for Davis as the Horned Frogs completed a sweep of Indiana State on Saturday to advance to the College World Series.

Davis only had one hit in the super regional round but that hit was a big one, with him hitting his ninth home run of the year on Friday night. Davis and the Horned Frogs would win that game 4-1, before winning the second game 6-4 on Saturday.

“People said I made a bad decision when I came to TCU,” Davis said in a tweet.

TCU is one of two Big 12 teams (Texas) to make the super regional round. Texas has the chance to join TCU in Omaha with a win on Sunday or Monday against Stanford.
