On The Pat McAfee Show, former Mountaineer Pat McAfee shared his thoughts on West Virginia quarterback Garrett Greene.
“Garrett Greene is a guy that when he plays football, everybody notices,” said McAfee. “Happy Valley is about to be GG (Garrett Greene) Valley.”
McAfee went on to describe Greene as an “electrifying” quarterback who can run and throw. One of main things that stuck out to McAfee was Greene’s performance against Oklahoma last season where he finished 12 for 22 with 138 yards and a touchdown along with 14 carries for 119 yards and two touchdowns.
“The fans loved him, he was jumping up in there afterward singing country roads.”
Greene is currently in the midst of a position battle with Nicco Marchiol, in which head coach Neal Brown said a decision won’t be made until the end of fall camp.
The Mountaineers will open their season on Saturday, September 2, at Penn State with kickoff slated for 7:30.
