Montele ‘MJ’ Johnson, a three-star linebacker, put West Virginia in his final five destinations.
The 2024 recruit is listed at 6-foot-2, 230 pounds, and released WVU in his final five schools on Saturday. The other four schools included Rutgers, Louisville, Kansas, and Boston College.
Johnson received the offer in January and has announced an official visit to just one of the five schools — Kansas in the middle of June. In his junior season, Johnson played in 10 games for West Bloomfield in West Bloomfield, Michigan. He finished with 102 tackles, 23 TFL, 4.5 sacks, and an interception.
“First I want to thank all of the schools that recruited me throughout this process,” Johnson said on Twitter. “But now I’m narrowing down my options down to 5 schools. Recruitment is still 100 percent open.”
