West Virginia won a share of the Big 12 title, but will be the three-seed in the 2023 Phillips 66 Big 12 Baseball Tournament which starts on Wednesday.
Texas got the No. 1 overall seed holding the tiebreaker over Oklahoma State and West Virginia, while Oklahoma State earned the two-seed as they also shared a portion of the Big 12 title and had a 3-3 record against Texas and WVU, compared to WVU’s 2-4 record.
West Virginia faces Texas Tech in the first round of the Big 12 Tournament at 8:30 p.m. EST on Wednesday. The winner of the game faces the winner of Oklahoma State/Oklahoma, while the loser faces the loser of Oklahoma State/Oklahoma on Thursday.
West Virginia took two of three games from Texas Tech this season, including a 17-2 win and 5-3 win over the Red Raiders.
