West Virginia football knew they would have a lot of work to do when it. comes to figuring out depth in their wide receiver room. They also knew they would help solve this issue somewhat by hitting the transfer portal. They did that again on Monday, adding Noah Massey.
Massey spent time at Bowling Green before going to the Division II level. In 2022 he had 52 catches for 682 yards and four touchdowns. Massey is listed at 6-foot-4, 230 pounds, adding a bigger body to the room for head coach Neal Brown and wide receivers coach Bilal Marshall.
Massey will have one year of eligibility remaining.
Before spring football the Mountaineers did not have a ton of options at wide receiver outside of the frontline guys. Now, in the matter of two days, they have picked up EJ Horton — a guy with a lot of downfield speed — and Massey — someone who can help WVU in short yardage situations and who can make contested catches with his size.
