Brown and Clarke win the XFL Championship Game

Former West Virginia Mountaineers Leddie Brown and Will Clarke won the XFL Championship Game as members of the Arlington Renegades on Saturday at the Alamodome in San Antonio.

Brown joined the Renegades midseason and scored the first two touchdowns of his professional career in the 35-26 upset win over the DC Defenders. The Renegades were 8.5 point underdogs and won to cap off a Cinderella season.

Will Clarke was drafted by the Renegades last fall prior to the XFL’s 2023 return. In the championship game win, Clarke recorded a tackle for loss and half a sack.

Many XFL players have received invites to NFL camps, including former West Virginia Mountaineer Gary Jennings of the St. Louis Battlehawks. With the Renegades season now over, players such as Brown and Clarke could receive invites to NFL camps in the near future.
