Joe Mazzulla and his 2-seeded Boston Celtics advanced to the second round of the playoffs after a 4-2 series win against the Atlanta Hawks. Mazzulla and the Celtics’ opponent is division rival, the Philadelphia 76ers. Following a close loss in game one, Mazzulla and his team came back and won game two 121-87. Boston won last night’s game as well and hold a 2-1 series advantage.
Miles “Deuce” McBride and the 5-seeded New York Knicks advanced to the second round for the first time since 2013 following a 4-1 series victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers. McBride appeared in four games, averaging 3.0 minutes per game. The Knicks are now in a series with the 8-seeded Miami Heat. The series is currently tied 1-1 with the next game taking place on Saturday at 3:30.
Jevon Carter and the 1-seeded Milwaukee Bucks fell to the 8-seeded Miami Heat in just five games. This was only the sixth time in NBA history that the top seed in the conference failed to make it out of the first round. Carter averaged 12.3 minutes in his four appearances.
