West Virginia running back Tony Mathis Jr. entered the transfer portal, he announced in an Instagram post on Monday.
“I would like to thank Coach Brown and Coach Scott for giving me the opportunity. Coach Mike, Coach Mitch and the whole strength staff I appreciate what you all have done for me coming straight out of high school,” he said.
Mathis was a redshirt sophomore this past season, starting in 10 games and compiling 562 rushing yards and five touchdowns. Mathis is 5-foot-11, 210 pounds, from Orlando, Florida. He will have two years of eligibility remaining.
