When the 2023 NFL Draft ended on Saturday, it ended with a total of one Mountaineer who heard his name called — Dante Stills — by the Arizona Cardinals. Soon after, another — Bryce Ford-Wheaton — signed an UDFA deal with the New York Giants.
Now, two more former Mountaineers are getting their shot to play at the next level as both Wesley McCormick and Jasir Cox reached a deal to attend NFL Rookie Mini Camps.
McCormick is accepting an invitation to play with the Washington Commanders according to Tanner Phifer. McCormick played in 10 games this season for WVU, finishing with 17 total tackles and a pair of PBU.
Cox is also accepting an invitation from another NFC East team as he will be attending the Philadelphia Eagles mini camp. Cox had 62 total tackles and 6 TFL this season. He has a lot of positional versatility as he played SPEAR for WVU and can switch between safety and linebacker.
