WVU gains DB commitment from transfer portal

Former Georgia Southern defensive back Anthony Wilson announced today that he is transferring to West Virginia.

Wilson, a redshirt junior, played at Georgia Southern from 2019-2022, was a starter from 2020-2022, and was an All-Sun Belt Conference Third Team selection last season. He had 101 combined tackles in 2022 to go along with 1.5 sacks, an interception, and a 72.9 coverage grade from Pro Football Focus.

The Columbia, South Carolina native has two years of eligibility remaining and chose West Virginia over UCF, Louisville, Tennessee, Purdue, Minnesota, Pitt, Cincinnati, Duke, SMU, and Tulane.
