West Virginia guard Jose Perez cleared up any confusion regarding his future as a Mountaineer. The Manhattan transfer — who is in a loaded transfer class for WVU — committed to staying with West Virginia for his final year of eligibility.
“I’d like to debunk all of the rumors now and let my family and Mountaineer Nation know I’m not going anywhere and me and my brothers are determined to do something special this year,” Perez said in a tweet.
Perez has spearheaded this offseason for WVU. Perez has been a host for multiple visits in this transfer portal cycle.
Perez was the first commitment of the transfer portal class. Since then, Perez and the Mountaineers have welcomed former Manhattan teammate Omar Silverio, Arizona transfer Kerr Kriisa, Syracuse transfer Jesse Edwards, and most recently Montana State transfer RaeQuan Battle.
