Mazzulla, Carter, McBride Readying for More Playoff Action

The first round of the NBA Playoffs kicked off on April 15, with former Mountaineers Joe Mazzulla, Jevon Carter, and Miles “Deuce” McBride all hoping to help their team in their quest for an NBA Championship.

Current Boston Celtics Head Coach, Joe Mazzulla, helped lead the 2-seeded Celtics to a quick 2-0 series lead, before losing two out of three, with one of those losses coming last night on a game winning three-point shot from Trae Young. Mazzulla and the Celtics currently have a 3-2 series lead with the next game taking place on Thursday, at 8:30 in Atlanta. The Celtics can advance to the next round with a win.

Carter and the 1-seed Milwaukee Bucks find themselves in a tough spot, down 3-1 to the 8 seed Miami Heat. Carter has made an appearance in every game this series, averaging 1.3 points on 12 minutes per game. With Carter and the Bucks on the brink of elimination, the Heat will look to become just the sixth 8-seed to take down a 1-seed, whilst the Bucks look to become the 14th team to comeback from a 3-1 series deficit. The next game of the series is tonight at 9:30 in Milwaukee.

McBride and the 5th-seeded New York Knicks currently hold a 3-1 series lead over the 4th-seeded Cleveland Cavaliers. McBride has appeared in three of those games, averaging four minutes a game. The Knicks will look to clinch their first series win in 10 years tonight on the road in Cleveland.
