West Virginia basketball’s alumni team Best Virginia will be competing again this summer for the $1 million prize in The Basketball Tournament.
Best Virginia has hosted a regional each of the past two years in Charleston, but this summer it will take place in Wheeling, West Virginia, at WesBanco Arena. This will take place from July 25-30, with the first game for Best Virginia taking place on Tuesday, July 25. Second round games will be played on July 27, and the West Virginia regional championship will be played on July 29.
Last season, Best Virginia won this and went on to the the quarterfinal round which took place in Dayton, Ohio. This year, Best Virginia will host a quarterfinal game with the winner of the West Virginia regional facing the winner of the Syracuse regional on July 30.
Best Virginia also announced the first two members of their 2023 squad — former Mountaineers Kevin Jones and Nathan Adrian. This is Jones’ fourth summer competing, and this will be Adrian’s first time back on the team since 2021.
Tickets for Best Virginia’s games go on sale May 1.
