Tre Mitchell is returning for his final year of eligibility.
It was four simple words released from Mitchell on social media — “run it back WV.”
Mitchell was arguable the most talented player one West Virginia this season. Mitchell started 32 of 34 games for West Virginia this season, averaging 11.7 points per game and 5.5 rebounds per game. He averaged 30 minutes per game, and shot 47 percent from the field.
Mitchell joins Joe Toussaint as fifth-year seniors who had the option to return. The last domino to fall from last year’s team is Jimmy Bell, who also has the option to use his final year of eligibility from the COVID-19 waiver.
