West Virginia head coach Neal Brown announced, former quarterback Rasheed Marshall is being hired as the Director of Player Relations.
“Rasheed Marshall, we’ve hired him in a full-time role as the Director of Player Relations,” Brown said. “He’s been involved with different aspects of our Fifth Quarter Program. Been around our guys, done some media things as well.”
Marshall played quarterback at West Virginia from 2000-2004, and has been around the program in recent years.
“He’s not only been a great player here, he’s done really well professionally,” Brown said. “[He] wanted to be a part of the program. Loves West Virginia, and is really passionate about developing young people. Excited to welcome him, today’s his first day.”
Brown added Marshall’s role will be mainly about ensuring the student-athletes are taken care of between housing, admissions, to other roles at West Virginia University.
“He’s really the liaison between the players and our support staff,” Brown said. “He’s the liason between housing and admissions, so he works directly with several pieces on campus. he’s here for the players. He’s going to work a lot with our fifth quarter program, preparing them for life after football. He’s been around a lot, we had the opening, he expressed interest, I’m glad it worked out.”
