Grace Grocholski, a top-100 rated recruit for women’s basketball in the class of 2023 has de-committed from the Mountaineers after the departure of head coach Dawn Plitzuweit.
Grocholski, a Wisconsin native, made her announcement on Twitter on Thursday.
“It is with a heavy heart that I have decided to reopen my recruitment due to the departure of Coach Dawn from West Virginia,” Grocholski said. “I am eager to find a new home to continue my basketball career and I looking forward to the opportunity of competing at a high level.”
Grocholski was the 34th women’s player in Wisconsin high school basketball history to eclipse the 2,000-point mark and helped lead her high school to a Division 1 Wisconsin State Championship this season.
