On the heels of an NCAA Tournament loss to Arizona on Friday, West Virginia head women’s basketball coach Dawn Plitzuweit could be headed elsewhere.
According to Mitchell Northam, Plitzuweit is the favorite for the job at Minnesota.
In her first season at WVU, Plitzuweit helped the Mountaineers finish 19-12 and return to the NCAA Tournament for the second time since 2016-2017. Plitzuweit came to West Virginia from South Dakota, where she took her team to a Sweet Sixteen a season ago.
Plitzuweit’s reported buyout is somewhere in the neighborhood north of $700,000.
UPDATE
Chantel Jennings of The Athletic confirmed sources say Minnesota has expressed interest in Plitzuweit.
