West Virginia women’s basketball guard Madisen Smith picked up the final Big 12 Player of the Week award of the season, as WVU went 2-0 in the final week of the regular season to help keep their NCAA Tournament hopes alive.
Smith came close to a triple-double in WVU’s win over Baylor on Saturday, scoring 30 points with eight rebounds and seven assists. On the week Smith averaged 26.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists while shooting 53 percent from the field.
Smith and the Mountaineers are the five-seed in the Big 12 Tournament, facing Oklahoma State on Friday in the second round.
