West Virginia women’s basketball earns a five-seed in the Big 12 Tournament

West Virginia women’s basketball closed their regular season schedule on Saturday with a 63-52 road win over Baylor. The Mountaineers swept the Bears and helped earn themselves a first round bye and the No. 5 seed in the Big 12 Tournament.

The Mountaineers will play Oklahoma State in the second round on Friday, March 10 at noon on ESPNU, with the winner facing the winner of Texas against Texas Tech/Kansas State.

The Mountaineers split with the Cowgirls this season, losing to them in Stillwater, but beating them at home earlier this week.

West Virginia is on the bubble for the NCAA Tournament and will have to win at least one game to keep their NCAA Tournament hopes alive.
