West Virginia men’s basketball hit the transfer portal on Thursday, adding transfer Omar Silverio.
Silverio was teammates with current Mountaineer Jose Perez at Manhattan, but after their head coach Steve Masiello was no longer the head coach of the team at the start of the 2022 season, they both entered the portal.
Silverio last played at Hofstra in 2021-2022. The 6-foot-3 guard from the Bronx, New York, averaged 10.9 points per game and 3.3 rebounds per game at Hofstra.
Silverio announced the decision saying, “God always has a plan. Ready to come in and play for a Hall of Famer Coach Huggs.”
Silverio called Jose Perez a “childhood brother” when he decided to leave Manhattan, and now will come to join the Mountaineers in 2023-2024.
