Anthony Becht picks up first win as a head coach, while other former Mountaineers compete in week one of the XFL Season

The XFL made its return this past weekend and with that return came an opportunity for multiple former Mountaineers to continue their careers.

Gary Jennings, Rex Sunuhara, Will Clarke, and George Campbell all were on XFL rosters this weekend.

Clarke of the Arlington Renegades had two tackles this weekend. Sunuhara was the long snapper for the San Antonio Brahmas.

Campbell and Jennings both play for the St. Louis BattleHawks, who are coached by former Mountaineer Anthony Becht. The BattleHawks trailed 15-3 with 1:29 to play, but using a new onside kick option to have a 4th and 15 from their own 25 yard line, they were able to convert after a touchdown and would end up scoring again to win 18-15.

Neither Campbell or Jennings recorded a catch in the win.

Needless to say Becht was fired up after the win, his first as a head coach.
