Current Notre Dame tight ends coach Gerad Parker is expected to be elevated to the offensive coordinator position at Notre Dame, per reports on Wednesday night.
Football Scoop first reported the move, as Parker who was the tight ends coach in 2022 is getting another shot at calling an offense. Parker is close with current head coach Marcus Freeman at Notre Dame, and the two have a lengthy history together.
Previously to Notre Dame, Parker served as the offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach in 2020-2021. Prior to that Parker had spent time at Penn State, Duke, Cincinnati, and Purdue among other places.
Parker left for Notre Dame as West Virginia decided to go in a different direction and hire Graham Harrell this past season to be the offensive coordinator for the Mountaineers. West Virginia’s current offensive coordinator is another guy who was on staff with Parker, in Chad Scott.
