Bell and Huggins discuss postgame scene following altercation with TCU student section

After West Virginia’s 76-72 loss to TCU on Tuesday night, Jimmy Bell was heated, and had to be separated from going over towards the TCU student section.

Bell, who scored just four points in the loss was visibly upset after the handshake line. Adding more fuel to the fire, TCU big man Eddie Lampkin seemed to walk over towards Bell, seemingly escalating things. Bell also got upset with some of his teammates as they were trying to de-escalate things and move Bell away.

“You got a bunch of kids up there pointing and calling names and things,” West Virginia head coach Bob Huggins said. “From what I understand one of them was pointing his finger in Jimmy Bell’s mothers face, which Jimmy didn’t take very kindly to. He’s not that kind of kid.”

Bell would go on Twitter later saying, “[I don’t care] who you are, you can say what you want to me but when you disrespect my mama [that’s] it. [That’s] personal, take it up with god straight up.”
