West Virginia is fresh off a week in which they went 2-0 — beating Texas Tech on the road and then handing No. 15 Auburn a loss on Saturday.
The Mountaineers desperately needed those two wins as they have now won three of their last four and sit in a okay position with just over a month left in the regular season.

West Virginia is currently ranked 25th in the NET rankings — five spots higher than they did on Saturday prior to the victory against Auburn, while KenPom ranks West Virginia 20th in the country.
West Virginia has played 12 Quad 1 games this year and are 4-8 in those games. West Virginia is 2-0 in Quad 2 games, as the win over Auburn was their second Quad 2 victory of the season.
The Mountaineers have 10 guaranteed games remaining, with seven of them being Quad 1 games and the remaining three being Quad 2 games.
Strength of schedule (SOS) is one of the criteria looked at by the selection committee and West Virginia has a very strong SOS. WVU’s RPI SOS, ranks fourth in the country. West Virginia’s NET SOS ranks seventh in the country.
WVU is also 9-3 at home and 2-4 on the road this season.

West Virginia’s current record is 13-8, and the Mountaineers are currently one of ESPN’s Joe Lunardi’s ‘last four in.’ West Virginia has a composite seed line of an 11-seed as Bracket Matrix lists WVU with an average seed of 10.45. WVU is one of seven teams predicted by Lunardi to be in the NCAA Tournament.
KenPom predicts WVU will go 7-11 in Big 12 play and finish the season with 18 wins (before the Big 12 Tournament).
