New AP Poll features six Big 12 teams in top 15, while WVU receives votes

This weekend, the Big 12 made a statement with a 7-3 record in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge. That statement was heard loud and clear by voters in the Associated Press Poll as the Big 12 features six teams ranked inside the top 15 in the weekly poll.

No. 7 Kansas State, No. 8 Kansas, No. 10 Texas, No. 11 Baylor, No. 13 Iowa State and No. 15 TCU all rank inside the top-15 of this week’s Associated Press Top 25 Poll.

Out of those teams, TCU fell the furthest, dropping four spots as they lost to Mississippi State in overtime on Saturday.

West Virginia was the only other team in the Big 12 to receive votes, as they received two votes in the poll. The Mountaineers would be ranked 41st in the country.

The Big East is the next closest to the Big 12 as far as teams are ranked with four, while the ACC has three, and the Big Ten, Pac 12, and SEC have two teams ranked.

West Virginia is set to face No. 15 TCU on Tuesday night at 9:00 p.m.
