West Virginia’s Erik Stevenson was named Big 12 Newcomer of the Week for his performances against Texas Tech and Auburn.
Stevenson recorded his first-career double-double against the Red Raiders on Wednesday in West Virginia’s 76-61 victory. He followed that up with a 31-point career-high scoring performance against No. 15 Auburn in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge on Saturday as the Mountaineers took down the Tigers.
In the two games this week Stevenson averaged 23.5 points per game this week, while also shooting 44.8 percent from the field, 47.1 percent from three-point range, and 81.3 percent from the free throw line.
