PREDICTIONS: No. 14 TCU vs WVU

Tre Mitchell at the Baylor game

West Virginia (10-7, 0-5 Big 12) hosts No. 14 TCU (14-3, 3-2) on Wednesday night in a game West Virginia badly needs to win. The Mountaineers are 0-5 in Big 12 play, while TCU has lost two of its last three, but is coming into the game off a 82-68 win over No. 14 Kansas State.

Wesley Shoemaker: West Virginia needs a win, but do they get it is the obvious question. I personally think they are due for a win, but beating this TCU team is going to be a tall task. WVU can get into foul trouble especially the way TCU likes to drive the basketball. WVU has size all throughout its rotation which can help. Ultimately, WVU is due and I think that is the only reason why I am picking this team. Hopefully Erik Stevenson bounces back if you are a WVU fan, but I am not holding out too much hope. Mountaineers find a way.

West Virginia 74, TCU 72

Aaron Parker: The Mountaineers have simply found ways to lose in all five Big 12 games thus far, and with another top 15 team visiting the WVU Coliseum, these Mountaineers are in dire need of a win. TCU gets 19 points per game from guard Mike Miles, and I think the junior will get more than that tonight. I also think the big man, Eddie Lampkin will get double digits, but I think WVU escapes with its first conference win of the year. I think Tre Mitchell has shown that the offense can run through him, and I think he will have his entire offensive package going- including made free throws. I think Erik Stevenson gets going again and a solid bench performance from Joe Toussaint will help lead the Mountaineers to victory.

West Virginia 77, TCU 69
