Blaine Stewart — son of former WVU head coach Bill Stewart — could be joining the WVU Football Coaching Staff

According to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Blaine Stewart who has served as the Pittsburgh Steelers assistant receivers coach is set to join the WVU coaching staff.

Dulac writes, “meantime, assistant receivers coach Blaine Stewart is leaving to join the staff at West Virginia, according to a source.”

Blaine Stewart is the son of former WVU head coach Bill Stewart. Blaine had served with the Steelers since 2018-2019 when he was a coaches assistant. Current Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has a long-standing relationship with the Stewart family and was in his fourth season on the Steelers’ staff this year.

Blaine grew up in Morgantown, and his dad Bill was head coach of WVU from 2008-2010, before passing away in 2012. Bill coached WVU in the Fiesta Bowl to close the 2007 season, and then to a 28-12 record during his tenure.

West Virginia is now under the direction of new wide receivers coach Bilal Marshall who recently took over the new position, if Stewart is going to be in the same position at WVU.
