Fullback Luke Hamilton has committed to the Mountaineers he announced on Friday.
Hamilton comes from FCS school Towson, where he was named a Preseason CAA All-Conference nominee. Hamilton is originally from Cumberland, Maryland, and he would miss most of the 2022 season due to injury.
Hamilton had been at Towson since the 2018 season, but only played in two games that year. In 2019 he played in all of Towson’s 12 games, and then in 2021 he was an All-CAA Second Team member.
Hamilton is 6-foot, 245 pounds and will add a physical blocking element to West Virginia’s backfield which seems to be turning towards being more run-based. Hamilton also has the ability to catch passes if need be, and can also play on special teams.
