West Virginia offensive lineman Doug Nester will use his final year of eligibility and stay with West Virginia he announced Thursday.
Nester, a native of Kenya, West Virginia, spent the first two seasons at Virginia Tech, before transferring back to his home state prior to the 2021 season.
Nester has played in 24 games over the past two seasons and is going to be using his extra year of eligibility granted to athletes because of COVID-19.
Nester is 6-foot-7, 320 pounds and previously walked on senior day for WVU with the option to return for one more season. The return of Nester is important to West Virginia who appears to be headed toward a run-first offense.
