Class of 2023 commitments Rodney Gallagher and Josiah Trotter will compete in the High School All-American Bowl on Saturday.
The All-American Bowl is an All Star Game for high school football. The top football players in high school from around the country compete in the event every year.
The Mountaineers’ two commitments playing in this year’s event are Gallagher and Trotter.
Gallagher was the highest-rated recruit of this class for WVU, a four-star wide receiver from Uniontown, Pennsylvania. He played quarterback as a senior, passing for 1,272 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also had 690 yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground, as well as catching 13 passes for 77 yards and four touchdowns.
Trotter is a Philadelphia native, who according to head coach Neal Brown helped keep multiple members of this class together. Trotter finished with 75 tackles, two forced fumbles, three sacks and an interception as a senior.
Both players are on the East roster in the game, which takes place in San Antonio, Texas. The All-American Bowl will be broadcast on NBC on Saturday at 1 p.m.
