WVU’s Taurus Simmons exits transfer portal, returns to WVU

After entering the transfer portal last month, West Virginia defensive lineman Taurus Simmons is leaving the portal and returning to West Virginia.

Simmons has been at WVU since the 2020 season, and has appeared in a total of 25 games in his three seasons here. Though not a starter, Simmons added depth to the line this season, and played in 11 games this year, finishing with 8.0 tackles, 1.5 TFL’s and 1.0 sacks. 

Simmons’ lone sack came in WVU’s finale against Oklahoma State.

Simmons is a native of Savannah, Georgia, where he attended Jenkins High School.
