West Virginia transfer guard Jose Perez’s eligibility for the 2022-2023 season has been denied by the NCAA.
The former standout at Manhattan decided to enter his name in the NCAA transfer portal back in October when the Jaspers fired their head coach. By the end of October, Perez announced his intentions to play for Bob Huggins and West Virginia.
Perez and the Mountaineers were hopeful to get his waiver approved to add depth at the guard position, but the decision has left both parties disappointed.
Despite the denial of eligibility for this season, Perez will be able to play his senior season for West Virginia in 2023-2024.
