West Virginia head coach Bob Huggins was honored by the state of Ohio for his induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
Huggins’ roots run deep through the state of Ohio, as he played and coached in the state.
Huggins was the Ohio Player of the Year in 1972, before head coaching both Akron and Cincinnati during his coaching career.
At Akron, Huggins won 97 games in five season. At Cincinnati, Huggins won 398 games in 16 seasons, including a Final Four appearance and multiple conference championships.
Huggins was honored at the Ohio Statehouse for his achievement of being enshrined into the Hall of Fame.
West Virginia is honoring Huggins’ induction this Sunday when the Mountaineers play host to Buffalo at 5 p.m. at the WVU Coliseum.
