West Virginia head men’s basketball coach Bob Huggins said he expects to use a redshirt on freshman guard Josiah Davis.
Davis, who attended Teays Valley Christian School did not enroll at WVU until August. Davis is one of two true freshman on WVU’s roster, with the other being Josiah Harris.
Davis has only played towards the end of games this season, appearing in four games, but not registering more than two minutes played in each of those four games.
“He’s getting better and better, but he’s playing really right now between two really good players,” Huggins said. “We got two points guards who are playing, we are playing those two points guards, we really don’t need.a third right now.”
Davis is 1 for 3 from the field on the season, and has scored five total points.
“Why waste a year,” Huggins said of Davis. “Why would we waste a year. He can redshirt and save that year and he’s going to have a heck of a career for us.”
