Former West Virginia women’s basketball star Donna Abbott has passed away West Virginia women’s basketball announced Monday.
Abbott, was born in 1970 and attended WVU from 1989-1992. She is one of three players in WVU women’s basketball history to score more than 1,000 points and have more than 1,000 career rebounds.
Abbott was a native of Huntington, West Virginia, averaged 15.3 points per game in her career at WVU. She also has 52 double-doubles, which rank second in the history of WVU.
Abbott graduated WVU in 1992 with a bachelor’s degree in physical education.
Abbott was inducted into the WVU Sports Hall of Fame this past September, in the class of 2022.
