In the final week of the regular season, West Virginia’s Jaylen Anderson took home the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week award.
The redshirt-freshman scored two touchdowns Saturday. The first touchdown was a 54-yard carry, while the second was a 57-yard carry. Anderson in total rushed for 155 yards on 15 rushes, with the two scores.
Anderson’s 100-yard rushing effort was the eighth of its kind for the Mountaineers this season. He was the fourth different player to achieve the feat for West Virginia.
The Mountaineers beat Oklahoma State this past Saturday 24-19, and broke the Cowboys’ 14-game home winning streak.
Anderson’s award was the seventh time a Mountaineer had been included in weekly honors from the Big 12.
