It is the final week of the regular season and it puts West Virginia up against Oklahoma State. Both teams are coming off of losses, while the Mountaineers look to end the season on a win, and Oklahoma State will look to advance towards postseason play with a victory.
Our staff gives their predictions for the game
Ashley O’Brien: West Virginia heads to Stillwater, Oklahoma for their 2022 finale and possibly Neal Brown’s final game. The Mountaineers have had a rough season & Saturday’s early kickoff proves to be another long four quarters of football.
OSU 48, WVU 24
Wesley Shoemaker: The end of the season has arrived… finally. Expectations were not met and it could be a long month for the Mountaineers. In the end, neither team really has more to play for, but nothing makes me think West Virginia will turn around their road struggles. West Virginia hopefully plays freshman quarterback Nicco Marchiol some along with younger guys just to give us a preview of what they will be. In the end I think West Virginia keeps it close, but they just won’t have the motivation to finish the game late.

Aaron Parker: The 2022 football season has been a disappointment to say the least, but the Mountaineers have a chance to end the season on a high note when they travel to Stillwater. West Virginia has not defeated Oklahoma State since the Clint Trickett days back in 2014, so it’s past time to get the monkey off their backs. With that said, I think Oklahoma State will keep the winning streak going against WVU. The Cowboys have been plagued with injuries and have a couple more losses than experts might have predicted in the preseason, but they still get the job done at Boone Pickens Stadium. I think quarterback Spencer Sanders will have a good day and will gain momentum before bowl season starts.

Tyler Prusina: There’s not much else to say about this team. It’s been a tough year and the only thing this team can do is finish the year strong and win on the road against Oklahoma State. If Greene can learn from his mistakes from the previous game and use his duel threat skills to the best of his ability this will give WVU the best chance to win the final game of the year.
OSU 45, WVU 17
Matt Natriello: West Virginia followed up their biggest win of the season against Oklahoma, by l’osi convincingly to Kansas State. They were able to stay in it, but the lackluster defense became too much to overcome. Against Oklahoma State the defense will have to not only stop Sanders passing, but his immense running ability. The offense should still be ran by Greene, and hopefully this week will run plays to his strengths.
