No. 7 West Virginia to host Virginia Tech in NCAA tournament

After winning the Big 12 Championship for the fifth time, the West Virginia Mountaineers (10-4-7, 4-1-4) found out on Monday afternoon that they will be playing host to the Virginia Tech Hokies (10-6-2, 4-5-1) in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

West Virginia snagged the No. 7 seed in the bottom-right quadrant of the bracket. The Mountaineers will play host to the Hokies, and the winner of the match will face the winner of No. 2 Penn State and Quinnipiac.  UCLA is the No. 1 seed in the region.

The Mountaineers earned their bid to the NCAA Tournament, after winning three straight games in the Big 12 Tournament this past week.

The match is set for Sunday, Nov. 13, with kickoff set for 1 p.m.
