Big 12 reaches six-year deal with ESPN, Fox

When Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yormark took over his position with the Big 12 Conference, one of his goals was to get new television rights deals done. On Sunday, it was announced by the Sports Business Journal, the Big 12 came to terms with ESPN and Fox on a six-year deal worth $2.28B.

Although the current deal is set to end in 2023-2024, it has been confirmed that this agreement will continue, with this new deal running through 2030-2031.

With a 72.7% increase in value compared to the previous deal which began in 2012, this deal represents a major improvement.

With ESPN having acquired the rights to the Big 12 football and basketball championships, Fox and FS1 will be broadcasting Big 12 basketball for the first time.

The Big 12 is still set to go through monumental change with the set departure of Oklahoma and Texas along with the arrival of BYU, Cincinnati, Houston, and UCF.
