Running back CJ Donaldson rushed for 104 yards on 19 carries, along with two touchdowns.
Despite the success for the true freshman, Donaldson would exit the game in the second half with what appeared to be a lower leg injury. Donaldson also exited in the first half, but would return to start the second half.
“CJ gets hurt, he got hurt bad in the second half,” West Virginia head coach Neal Brown said.
Brown confirmed it is a lower leg injury for Donaldson, with his road ahead for West Virginia’s final four games does not look good.
“He’s not good. He’s got a lower leg injury and we’ll see. But I don’t think it’s going to be good.”
Donaldson and the Mountaineers lost 41-31 to No. 7 TCU on Saturday.
