West Virginia is coming off two losses to start the season for the first time since 1979. The Mountaineers had an opportunity to win both games, but mistakes late cost them both times. Against FCS Towson on Saturday, the Mountaineers will look to improve in areas they struggled against Kansas this season.
- Defensive Line
Was last week the norm or was week one against Pitt the norm. West Virginia’s defensive line was silent against Kansas after having a really good week one. Look for them to take advantage of the lesser opponent and hopefully reverse what happened against Kansas. - Secondary
It has not been a good start for West Virginia’s secondary and this week they will look to put some issues to bed. They will have a lot more youth on that side of the ball and hopefully they young talent can help them. In fairness, it can’t hurt to try out these guys. - Energy and Effort
It is no secret facing an FCS foe at 1 p.m. can make it hard to get up to. They need a win and after starting 0-2 it can be easy to not show up for this type of game. I want to see how fast they start and if the effort is there on both sides of the ball.
