The West Virginia Mountaineers have released their uniform combination ahead of the second game of the season against the Kansas Jayhawks.
The Mountaineers will be wearing gold helmets, gold jerseys, and blue pants in the “Gold Rush” themed game against the Jayhawks.
This combination debuted in 2016, when the Mountaineers came back to beat Kansas State 17-16 in front of a homecoming, “stripe the stadium” crowd.
The Mountaineers are a perfect 4-0 in this uniform up until this point, and this is the third straight “Gold Rush” game that the combination will be featured.
The games where gold, gold, blue have been featured are as follows:
- 2016 vs. Kansas State (17-16 W)
- 2019 vs. NC State (44-27 W)
- 2020 vs. No. 16 Kansas State (37-10 W)
- 2021 vs. No. 15 Virginia Tech (27-21 W)
