On Monday, West Virginia head coach Neal Brown announced JT Daniels will be the starting quarterback for the Mountaineers as they take on Pitt in the Backyard Brawl.
“JT earned the right to start,” West Virginia head coach Neal Brown said. “He’ll be our starting quarterback.”
Daniels, is a two-time transfer, beginning his collegiate career at USC, before transferring to Georgia, and then to West Virginia. Daniels is 6-foot-2, 226 pounds, and was 7-0 as a starter for Georgia last season before getting injured. Last season, Daniels threw for 722 yards and seven touchdowns, while completing 68 of his 94 passing attempts.
Daniels is now set to square off against his former USC teammate Kedon Slovis in the Backyard Brawl on Thursday, Sept. 1, at 7:00 p.m.
