Following a historic season last year, the West Virginia men’s soccer team is entering the 2022 season with higher expectations.
On Tuesday, the United Soccer Coaches Rankings were released and the Mountaineers were ranked at No. 6 in the country. This is the highest preseason ranking in program history.
Defending national champion Clemson sits atop the rankings, while conference foes Kentucky and Marshall were ranked No. 8 and No. 14 respectively.
The Mountaineers return eight starters from last seasons squad and open their season on Thursday, Aug. 25.
