It has been announced by college basketball insider Jon Rothstein that West Virginia will play the Purdue Boilermakers in the first round of the 2022 Phil Knight Legacy Tournament.
This prestigious tournament will take place in Portland, Oregon from November 24-27, which is Thanksgiving weekend.
Purdue is coming off a very successful 29-8 season, which saw a Sweet 16 appearance in the NCAA Tournament before being defeated by Saint Peter’s.
The Boilermakers have since lost their best player, Jaden Ivey, who was drafted fifth overall by the Detroit Pistons. However, Purdue is sure to come back with another talented roster looking to win the all-impressive Big 10 conference.
The last meeting between the Mountaineers and Boilermakers was on December 22, 2013, when Purdue came into Morgantown and won 73-70.
