On Friday, it was reported that WVU right fielder Austin Davis will be using his final year of eligibility elsewhere, transferring to conference rival TCU.
Davis was a large part of Randy Mazey’s brand of baseball from 2019-2022, as he established himself as not only one of the best base stealers in the conference, but also a consistent hitter at the top of the order.
In 2022, Davis hit .330 for the Mountaineers with four home runs and 26 runs batted in. To go along with that, Davis stole 29 bases on 35 attempts from the leadoff spot in the WVU order.
Davis will now be joining a TCU squad that was one game away from advancing to a Super Regional in the 2022 NCAA Tournament.
