Victor Scott drafted by St. Louis Cardinals

With the 157th overall pick in the 5th round of the 2022 MLB Draft, the St. Louis Cardinals selected Victor Scott II.

Scott, who completed his junior season this year for WVU, anchored down the middle of the Mountaineer lineup. Scott, hit .278 in 55 games started, knocking in 47 RBI to go along with six home runs. Scott also manned center field for West Virginia, using his speed to make a difference in the outfield.

That speed was also on full display on the bases, as Scott had 38 stolen bases, and only got caught stealing seven times.

Scott, who hails from Powder Springs, Georgia, has the record for most stolen bases in a season for WVU.
