The West Virginia women’s basketball team is hitting the road for two away matchups following two home conference wins.
Head coach Mark Kellogg discussed the adversity his team is facing and how they overcome their distractions including the heavy snowfall in Morgantown that is putting a wrench in their practice plans.
Kellogg said he hopes to get a practice in and sorted out without the players having to drive too far in the dicy weather.
“The great ones adjust,” Kellogg said. “We’ll regroup and get ready for the road trip and hopefully overcome some elements and some distractions, but that’s part of the game,” he added.
The Mountaineers fell to Colorado in their conference opener on the road. Kellogg said he believed the Colorado game was an “outlier” due to their rough performance in the fourth quarter following a lead the entire game. He thought his team’s mindset and preparation was on point.
“Now we get to go on the road for two more, so we’re going to learn more about our group and see if we prepare the right way and have the right mindset when we get on the road,” Kellogg said.
West Virginia hopes to add two road wins to their conference record as they take on Texas Tech and Oklahoma State.
